It was a display of outstanding motorsports talent as Earl Bamber and James Grunwell took first and second place respectively on the first day of Formula V6 Asia racing.

Sunday turned into a triumphant Indonesian final for Team QI-Meritus, shared not only by Indonesia IRs, but by millions of avid spectators through a live telecast. The Grand Race, Round 6 of the 2008 Formula V6 Asia Series, was dominated yet again by Earl Bamber and James Grunwell, who reproduced Saturday’s performances with the same podium positions (1st & 2nd). H.E. Agung Laksono, Head of Parliament presented the trophies to our young talents while the team’s celebration kicked off with a champagne shower for Team Principal Peter Thompson.

Complementing their Formula V6 podium finishes, it was a second “double podium” for Team QI-Meritus in Sentul in the Formula BMW Pacific Series! This time Ross Jamison and Chris Wooten, dominated the race and easily took the coveted first and second places.
Sunday morning saw Simon Moss and Chris Wooten grab the 2nd and 3rd place on the podium, while in the afternoon a triumphant Ross Jamison crossed the chequered flag in first place.
"Our success in Sentul is a turning point for the team this season. We have never been very lucky here and were worried coming into the weekend. Ross (Jamison) for example has never been comfortable here but he pulled himself together and secured two important wins," said team principal Peter Thompson. "We have enhanced our positions in all the championships and are on track for another good season."
Thompson added: "From a team point of view it was also a turning point and we came here with one intention and that was to win and dominate in both series. Our results here again prove our winning engineering and that we are the Asian development team of choice for any aspiring single-seater driver looking to develop their racecraft in preparation for a professional career."
QuestNet wishes to thank all our IRs for their intense support at the circuit, and sends our congratulations to the team!
